It would make a great setting due to the shift in technology in that period. Either way, they should have made it as DLC for Empire or Napoleon but they completely missed out on it. I think Europe is actually their biggest market if I recall correctly. I wish they would make a Civil War expansion too although they have to worry about their bigger markets and if they'd want to a game based on America only. The expansion won't require Shogun 2 either but they can be linked and share bonuses basically. Oh, and the beta doesn't require Shogun 2 if anyone is interested but doesn't have the original game.
